Application Integration Engineer

Hosted Solutions is looking for an Application Integration Engineer to provide customers with access to application environment planning, administration, and monitoring services. As an Application Integration Engineer you will provide subject matter expertise for end-to-end support of all aspects of customers’ application environments. Application Integration Engineers are highly experienced and are able to provide in-depth knowledge and troubleshooting on a wide range of web application related technologies.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support of middleware, application, and web servers
- Provide integration and administration of customer application environments
- Evaluate performance of production servers and respond to issues that arise related to application servers
- Troubleshoot application server, web server, and general environment issues
- Aid in the design and development of new systems, and redesign of existing systems, to fulfill the needs of the customer
- Support multiple platforms, including after-hours support and off-hours maintenance
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation
Requirements:
- Proven ability to administer highly available, enterprise class application environments
- Experience with J2EE application servers
- Experience with Apache and/or IIS
- 3+ years related experience, primarily in a Unix environment, including at least 1 year of application server administration in some form
- Strong user-level Linux/UNIX skills
- Understanding of n-tier web application systems
- Development experience in at least one dynamic web application language (Java, ASP, .NET, PHP, etc)
- Fundamental concepts of Java (classes, exceptions, stack traces)
- Fundamental concepts of relational databases
- Fundamental concepts of networking (TCP, Load Balancing)
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience may substitute for degree.
Desired:
- Experience with Weblogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, and/or JBoss application servers
- Experience with PHP, Ruby on Rails
- Solaris and/or Linux administration
- Basic experience with F5 load balancing
- General J2EE concepts and components (Servlets, EJBs, JMS, JDBC)
