Storage Administrator

Primary Accountability/Responsibility:

The Storage Administrator is responsible for implementing and maintainig enterprise storage solutions in production environments. They will act as a technical escalation point within Central Operations for storage specific issues.

Job Accountability/Responsibility:

• Responsible for the operations and upkeep of the Backup and Storage infrastructure.
• Work closely with other storage engineers on new implementations as well as maintaining the current environment.
• Act as a technical escalation point within Central Operations for storage specific issues.
• Responsible for implementing and guaranteeing process and systems are in place to deliver highly available storage platforms. 
• Creates documentation for customer environments, processes, technical training, and support procedures.
• Provides training and technical leadership to Tier I personnel. 
• Provide additional support when necessary for backup and server virtualization functions.
• Drives efficient and effective resolution of customer issues.
• Participates in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage of critical customer and internal systems.

Requirements:

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

• 2 years experience administering EMC Clariion Arrays
• 4 years System Administration experience, any OS
• Experience with Symantec NetBackup
• 2 years experience working on an Enterprise Operations team
• 3-5 years experience in implementing and maintaining enterprise storage solutions in production environments
• Bachelor's of Science Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with VMware (desired)
