Microsoft Windows Support Specialist:
Raleigh/ Cary, NC Data Center
Hosted Solutions is looking for an experienced Microsoft Windows Systems Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 – 8 years experience in supporting enterprise class Window Server environments (minimum 200+ servers). In-depth knowledge of the Windows operating systems is required along with a current MCSE including 1 or more incremental credentials. Candidates must have impeccable written and verbal communication skills and have a minimum of 2 years experience with direct third level customer support.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent 6 - 8 years progressive experience within technical support position is required. The ideal candidate will posses an in-depth knowledge of the Windows Operating System along with successful and demonstrable experience implementing multiple Windows applications at an enterprise level. Preference will be given to candidates having direct sales support and customer support experience in addition to the technical requirements.
Duties will include technical support, management of multiple on-going projects, sales support, direct participation in complex service turn-up’s, enhancement of operations practices, proactive problem resolution and on-call support responsibilities. Duties will additionally involve tracking performance, utilization, platform growth, and adherence to service metrics for assigned customers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of, and demonstrated experience with the Microsoft Windows operating systems (2000, 2003, XP, Vista).
- Working knowledge and expertise with two or more Microsoft technologies - Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, Clustering, and Network Load Balancing.
- Demonstrate technical leadership in configuring and installing Dell, HP, and other Wintel servers and blade centers.
- Working knowledge of monitoring and management infrastructures.
- Knowledge of storage subsystems, Raid Arrays and Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Networks (SAN).
- In-depth knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies.
- Understanding of Domain Name Service (DNS) and Access Control Lists (ACL’s).
- Working knowledge of IP addressing and subnets, routing protocols, firewalls, and load balancing desired.
- Knowledgeable in performing backup and recovery tasks.
