Hosted Solutions Sponsors the Inaugural Meeting of the Carolina’s SaaS User Group

Charlotte, NC- April 30, 2007- The first meeting of the Carolina's SaaS User Group, sponsored by Hosted Solutions, was held Thursday, March 15th at the Southend Brewery in Charlotte. The initial meeting was scheduled to garner interest and to establish direction for the group. The meeting was a great success with more than 75 people in attendance representing 60 companies in the region. All attendees were with organizations that currently are involved in the Software as a Service space or looking to implement this type of service delivery model.

Software as a service (SaaS) is a software application delivery model where a software vendor hosts and operates their web-native software application they developed for use by their customers over the Internet. During the coming years enterprise IT will come to depend more and more on hosted services that deliver deep functionality with very little maintenance at a very low cost of entry.

"As the technology community continues to thrive in the Carolinas, there has been an explosion of Software-as-a-Services/ On-Demand Applications emerging in the market. Interest was expressed by many of the leaders in creating forum where best practices, resources, and experiences could be shared regularly," replies Josh Wolff, General Manager for Charlotte Sales of Hosted Solutions and President of the Carolina Software as a Service User Group.

The next meeting will be held at National Gypsum's Corporate HQ on May 17th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
