Replacements, Ltd. Signs Agreement with Hosted Solutions
Hosted Solutions is providing the backbone infrastructure to Replacements, Ltd.'s extensive website
Charlotte, NC-October 26, 2004 - Hosted Solutions, the Carolinas' leading data center and Web hosting company, has just announced a new contract with Replacements, Ltd. designating them as the official managed web host for the Greensboro-based company.
“By leveraging Hosted Solutions' product offerings and proven ability to implement mission critical, highly trafficked environments, we feel confident in their ability to support our Website,” comments Blair Friday, CIO of Replacements, Ltd.
The multi-year agreement of over a quarter million dollars, calls for Hosted Solutions to manage all aspects of www.replacements.com, a Website that generates over $20 million dollars in annual sales. The multi-server infrastructure will leverage Hosted Solutions' expertise in security and load balancing and will be implemented using high end technologies from F5, Check Point and Dell.
Hosted Solutions was chosen in part because of their rapid turnaround time in launching the new site. Replacements needed to migrate from their current provider in Tampa, Florida to Hosted Solutions' Charlotte data center in time for the busy holiday season.
Replacements, Ltd. was founded in 1981 by Bob Page, and has the world's largest collection of collectibles such as china, glassware, and both new and old dinnerware.
It is housed in a 300,000 square foot facility and contains over 10 million pieces of china, stoneware, glassware, crystal, silver, stainless and other collectibles. The inventory contains over 200,000 different patterns, many of which are 100 years old or older.
The company adds news pieces to the website daily and helps thousands of customers replace broken or missing pieces each month. Each item goes through a thorough inspection and is categorized within a large computerized inventory system.
