Kognitio and Hosted Solutions Partner for North American On-demand Data Warehousing as a Service

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Business intelligence and data warehousing solutions provider Kognitio (www.kognitio.com) and IT Infrastructure as a Service provider Hosted Solutions (www.hostedsolutions.com) have partnered to bring Kognitio's on-demand Data Warehousing as a Service (or DaaS) solution to organizations throughout North America.
Used for pricing analysis, customer insight, retail analytics, and a range of other business purposes, Kognitio's DaaS helps companies meet their analytical needs without having to implement their own large-scale infrastructures.

According to the Wednesday announcement at the SaaS Users Group Spring Roadshow held this week in North Carolina's Research Triangle region, this partnership is Kognitio's first with a hosting provider in North America, making DaaS, centered around the company's WX2 analytical database, available to a far wider range of companies than before.

Under the terms of the partnership, Kognitio will use Hosted Solutions' five SAS-70 Type II data centers along the East Coast to securely host data for its DaaS customers. "Hosted Solutions' data centers provide the reliability and security we were seeking," said John K. Thompson, who heads Kognitio's North American operations. "Its customers already recognize the value in outsourcing key infrastructure capabilities, thus making it easier for us to convey to them the benefits in letting us handle their business analytics. We were impressed that Hosted Solutions recognized the value it could offer to its existing customers and prospects with DaaS. We were seeking more than a hosting provider; we wanted a partner and we found that in the Hosted Solutions team."

Hosted Solutions will make Kognitio's DaaS available to companies for deep-dive analytics, but may not have the upfront capital expenditures to run data analytics and data warehousing implementations on premise. Powered by Kognitio's WX2 database, DaaS gives organizations the ability to access and analyze their data using Hosted Solutions' Stratus Trusted Cloud environment. End-users simply pay for the analytics they use per terabyte, per month, making analytics on big data a risk-free and low-cost-to-entry proposition.
