Web Host Hosted Solutions Names VP of Technology
Web Host Industry Review — November 2, 2009
Web hosting provider Hosted Solutions announced on Monday that it has appointed industry veteran Jeff Kramer as vice president of technology.
The appointment is Hosted Solutions' second major appointment this year. In January, the company named Noreen Allen the company's vice president of marketing.
Kramer has more than 25 years of experience in both entrepreneurial and established environments. In his new role, he will oversee the architecture and product strategy across the entire organization.
Before joining Hosted Solutions, Kramer served as SVP, engineering and technology operations for online publisher Lulu.com, where he led the company's engineering team to deploy many critical e-commerce system enhancements, improve delivery speed and quality, and revamp the site's underlying architecture.
"Jeff is a very strong addition to our team," says Rich Lee, Hosted Solutions' founder and CEO. "He's held leadership positions and delivered very strong results for some cutting edge technology companies. He's well known in the market for driving technology teams to deliver products and services that solve key business problems. And most importantly, coming from a firm like Lulu.com, he truly 'gets' what our customers need most. I'm confident that he'll add tremendous value to our team and especially to our customers."
Prior to Lulu, Kramer worked for Motricity and its predecessor company, Pinpoint Networks, starting out as the VP of engineering and operations, then leading the architecture and technology group.
Kramer's experience in the areas of designing highly available and scalable architectures in a multi-platform environment, virtualization, and improving the product development lifecycle, will be a significant asset for Hosted Solutions, says Lee.
He has also served as director of software development at Engage and spent 16 years with IBM serving in many key technical and managerial roles, including senior software development manager in the Tivoli Systems Division.
Kramer is also the chairman of the Triangle Technology Executives Council (http://www.ncttec.net) and he holds one US patent and many IBM technical disclosures.
