Managed Storage

Hosted Solutions Hi-Touch Storage Services have proved their value in assuring the protection of corporate and customer data, at a nominal cost. Today's tighter regulatory climate requires certain categories of business data to be available on demand. Hosted Solutions Hi-Touch Storage Services not only ensure full compliance, but are managed 24x7 by an expert staff, allowing your IT teams to focus on higher-level responsibilities.

Hosted Solutions will back up customer data daily to provide the most comprehensive refresh available, by our revolutionary disk-to-disk-to-tape method. This method of replication assures our customer's backups are completed within the time allotted.

HI-TOUCH NETWORK ATTACHED STORAGE

Storage Services, Storage Area Networks, Network Attached Storage, and Direct Attached StorageNetwork Attached Storage (NAS) was developed to allow the sharing of data files over an Ethernet network. Network Attached Storage allows local computer users access to files on a remote computer over a TCP/IP network. To the end user, the file on the remote computer could be used just as if it were on the local hard disk, and allows for multiple users to share access to the same file across the network. By simply connecting a computer or appliance with internal disk storage to the network your organization can enable users access to those disks.

Network Attached Storage works best for these types of applications:

  • File serving
  • File sharing
  • Users' home directories
  • Content archiving
  • Metadata directories
  • E-mail repositories, such as enterprise .PST files
  • GRID computing (using 10 Gigabit Ethernet)
  • Peer-to-peer data sharing

HI-TOUCH STORAGE AREA NETWORKS

Storage Area Networks (SAN) were developed to allow organizations better disk utilization and performance. SAN allows another computer to share the unutilized storage capacity inside each computer, and allows another computer to access those disks. By networking the storage, the drives that were once proprietary in usage, can now be placed in a central location and shared between multiple computers. This allows the sharing of disk space among multiple computers, which allows better performance, and enables more fault tolerant computing through server clustering.

Storage Area Networks work best for these types of applications:

  • Databases
  • Server clustering
  • Messaging applications
  • Backup
  • Data replication
  • GRID computing
  • Data warehousing
  • Recovery archives
  • Any application that requires low latency and high bandwidth for data movement.

HI-TOUCH DIRECT ATTACHED STORAGE

Direct Attached Storage (DAS) was originally developed to give individual PCs more storage space allowing for more high capacity functions of the PC. Direct Attached Storage is simply a storage device attached directly to a host system. DAS is still by far the most commonly used method of storage for computer systems.

Direct Attached Storage works best for these types of applications:

  • Smaller storage capacities
  • Low data availability organizations
  • Simple file sharing
